Öckerö gymnasium

3/2-2025 - 4/2-2025

Today we had very much on our schedule that we had to do and wanted to do because it was our last day in Paramaribo. Starboard had watch and midships and portside was free.

First, all of us who got off the boat went to a second-hand that we got recommended by someone in the ship's company. Almost every one of us bought at least one thing. Then we split the group because it was easier to not go twenty people together.

Me and my group went to the fruit market. I bought a pomelo fruit, it was really good. Then we went to KFC because they had almost the best Wi-Fi in the city that we could connect to. People called their parents and downloaded movies and music. When everyone was done, we went to the only souvenir store in the city. Most of us bought different souvenirs like magnets, shirts and bracelets. We also had to bunker up a bit with candy and drinks to our trip to Grenada so we went to a big food store and then we went back to the boat. At 8 pm the pilot came to guide us out from the port. Now portside had their watch from 8 pm-12 pm. We in midships all went to sleep to get some rest before out watch from 12 pm to 4 am.

Because it was the first hours of the sea leg some people felt really bad, some even threw up. We had gone by motor until our watch so we had to set sails. We set eight sails on our watch. We cleaned the laundry facility and it had not been done in the whole week we were in Paramaribo so it was very dirty. After our watch we went to sleep and then woke up at 11 am to eat lunch. For lunch we got pea soup, it looked a bit scary but it was very good, we also got baguette. On our day watch i was helmsman, it was very fun but very, very hot. Almost all of us got a sunburn even if we had sunscreen on. We had lessons after our watch, we had social studies the whole time, but you can choose what to do if you are done with what's on the schedule. For example, i was done so I did my history. After our lessons most of us in midships went to sleep and then got ready for our new watch.
