A challenge to steer

My day started off as normal and the first watch was between 8 and 12 am. It was a pretty calm morning and my assignment was as guard. The captain told us that the sea will more rough and the wind will be stronger.

After watch we ate lunch and had lessons. I took some time before and after dinner to listen to my book and to take a nap. At 7.30 pm I got woken up to get ready for my watch. I put on three layers of cloth and over that my sailing pant and jacket. When you are post you have a lot of responsibility and it can often be cold as you are still for the most part. Except when you are steering, then you have to move a lot and especially this night. The wind was strong and it was quite a challenge to steer.
