And We Back Again!

Here we go again is exactly what went through my head as I took the first steps from the dock aboard our beloved Gunilla. We all started the day by saying goodbye to our friends and family at 10 o’clock during Thursday morning.

The day at sea started by settling in like I never left. All of the sudden we were all on deck and the boat was at anchor outside the island of Knippla. I met everybody in the crew and then we got put into groups. Then we began the process of learning everything about Gunilla all over again. On Thursday, my group did some climbing as well as some going through the safety on deck. That was all we did before we got let loose on the ship. The night came quickly and the day ended by watching a movie together before getting some well needed shut-eye.

Friday morning came just as quick as yesterday had gone by. After getting some breakfast we continued the learning process and today we did stuff such as getting familiar with the engine room, the kitchen, the washing room and basically all the places below the main deck. There is a lot of safety involved, and I mean A LOT! The learning process was finally done, just before dinner and yet another day's end.

Only two days have gone by and yet it already feels like home.
