The day started as many days at sea does with being awoken early to start your watch. For me that meant 03:30 in the morning since I’m on the four to eight watch.

Despite the usual tiredness most people experience when they’re woken at 03:30 I was excited because I knew that we would arrive to Antigua some time that morning. The watch passed quickly and a little past seven in the morning we had anchored outside of Antigua. I was then free for the rest of the day so I got some sleep before getting ready to go ashore around lunchtime. I didn’t eat anything for lunch on the boat so the first thing we did on Antigua was eating at a Mexican restaurant near the dock called los cabrones.

After that we felt like exploring so we took a bus from Falmouth harbor to Antiguas capital St Johns. The ride was pretty long and it was very warm on the bus, but the scenery outside was beautiful and it was fun and interesting to see the different buildings and villages that we passed by. Once we arrived in the city it was a little hard to find something to do but it was Interesting to walk around through different stores and streets. Unfortunately it was too hot for us and we couldn’t keep walking in the heat, instead we decided to go back to Falmouth harbor and find a nice beach where we could take a swim and relax.

About an hour later we were back at the harbor and a beautiful walk after that we were at pigeon point beach. The walk there were gorgeous and the nature looked amazing in the low afternoon sun. Pigeon Point were equally beautiful and we spent the majority of the afternoon there. On our way back we stopped and ate some pizza before we got on the boat back to Gunilla at nine. When I ware back I was so tired that I went straight to bed and quickly fell asleep after a long and good day.
