Cleaning day

The dreaded day was here. I woke up at 7.00 clock feeling great until I remembered, it was cleaning day. My mood quickly changed when I started putting my clothes on. On the bright side I didn’t have to start cleaning until after lunch. Leo the first mate was doing an experiment with the cleaning to see if we could clean half the guard and then change and still be finished before dinner. This didn’t work and we were instead done at 10.30. He said that he probably wouldn’t try this again. Nevertheless I had four hours of doing nothing. When it was time for me to start cleaning I was assigned to the big mess.

Because of the new system we were already after in the schedule. We did the best we could with the conditions we had. I sat with a toothpick for two hours in all the small spaces in the floor. Also I cleaned the walls inside and the deck outside. I did a lot more but I can’t remember more. When we were done cleaning my brain was musch, I wouldn’t of known how to count to a 100.

At dinner everyone was tired and it was chaotic, we fought over the food like animals even though we knew it was enough for everyone. Someone was screaming for the sauce and another one was reaching acros the table to get som carrots. Everyone had finished their plates in five minutes and then we just sat there realizing what just happened.

The highlight of the day were when we at 20.30 went to a flamenco dance class. We were divided into our guards and went in groups at different times. We all had a blast though we were all pretty bad. At the class we clapped our hand a lot and stepped with our feet in all kinds of different ways. Flamenco focuses much on different rhythms an you have to clap your hands and move your feet to the rhythm of the music.

All in all it wasn’t a horrible day though it’s not very fun to clean with toothpicks.
