Öckerö gymnasium

English blog 6/1

The day started off with me taking a well needed rest. I just watched Netflix in my bed until the 10 am snack. As I was eating, I found out some other people were planning on heading to the city, so I decided to go with them. We were a stable group of eight people.

The main goal for the day was to find a Wi-Fi café. After walking around the city for a bit we found a cosy café with AC, yummy pastries but most importantly- Wi-Fi. We ordered our pastries and sat there for a good hour calling our loved ones.

Previous students had recommended a piercing place where you could pierce your ears for a very cheap price. Despite my suspicions about the cleanliness on the place one of my friends decided that she was going to pierce her ears, a second lobe piercing on each side.

When my friend had paid for her piercings, we got led to a room in the back of the store where the studio was. She got seated in the chair and the piercer took out a marker to mark out where the holes were going to be. It took a while to get it right, too high, too low. But eventually he got it right. He put the piercing gun to her ears and within the click of a button, her ears were pierced!

We went back to the boat and just chilled out until dinner. Dinner consisted of spinach soup, bread with cheese and pesto and eggs. After dinner me and another group of people went out into the city with the goal of doing our Spanish assignment.

To wrap up Santo Domingo we ate one last ice cream before heading back to the boat. We were all excited to be leaving the following day as we hadn’t really had a lot to do here because of the still ongoing Christmas holidays. Now we look forward to arriving in Tampa and coming home after our two-and-a-half-month-long trip.
