First day in A Coruña

The day started bright and early at 3.30 am. Well maybe not bright but early. We woke up to the view of A Coruña lighting up the sky. Half asleep we went around and got the boat ready to dock. To add to this it was pouring rain the entire time. When the clock is 5 it means it’s time for our nightly fika. This time it was cinnamon buns which really feels like home. When you are always eating food someone else is cooking you really start to crave food, cause you can not choose anything. So ever since then all I’ve been thinking about is different kinds of foods and especially cinnamon buns. So this was perfect, though I have to admit they were kind of dry but I will not complain, they were still good. But we docked in A Coruña around 8 am.

Then for the first time in over 10 days I got ready. And it felt so good, you feel so fresh and just new. But the best part, we went into A Coruña with one thing in mind. Coffee. There is Coffee on the Gunilla, but it is awful. When sleep is low, which it always is here, coffee sounds so good but it is so disgusting. So a coffee it was, and this was probably the best part of the entire day. And really needed when you have been up since 3.30 and gotten at max 5 hours of sleep. But now we were ready for the city. So we started walking around just looking with no real plan.

After that we went into some supermarkets, mostly to look at what they have. We bought some snacks and then headed down to the beach to meet up with some other friends. But around here people started getting a little hangry and tired, so lunch it was. Me and two friends went looking for lunch but so many places were closed or the kitchen wasn’t open, but after some time we found this kind of tapas place. We ordered two sandwiches and some chicken, and of course another coffee. And wow, the sandwich with salmon we ordered was on another level.

Now with some more energy we started walking around again not really doing much but just walking through the city. The rain had stopped and it was now really sunny. We kept walking around, ate some dinner and then headed back to the boat tired after a long day I decided to go to bed. In the end being awake for 20 hours when you are already sleep deprived is not perfect. But I had a really fun day.
