Today has been a calm day.
The waves are much smaller, and the wind is okay. We are sailing a bit off course at the moment. We got chilli con carne with rice and nacho chips for lunch. We had our first lesson today. It was fun; we did some deck work and wrote questions about COLREG. We, the seafarer students, are having a small test about COLREG. COLREG is a convention under IMO that decides the rules to prevent collisions at sea. COLREG stands for Collision Regulations at sea. We saw some dolphins today, but they only swam with us briefly. Everyone is very excited about the snack; it will be cinnamon buns. It hasn’t happened a lot these last few days. But now we are starting to get into the routines.
