The second day in St Barthélemy started with breakfast and morning line-up, as usual. We got the news that we had to leave for St Martin earlier than expected since we were going to get service for our broken air conditioner that same evening.
So, we rushed to get into town immediately. Since we had about three hours to spend, we decided not to do anything special and of course not too time-consuming. So, we went for a coffee and walked around before heading back to the boat. Apparently, St Barthélemy is the most luxurious of the Caribbean islands, which showed when we bought coffee. I had a tiny, tiny glass of iced coffee, which cost me 9 euros. It is safe to say that I will not be visiting this island again. Unless I win the lottery or something.
After arriving on the ship again we had lunch before our watch. We had carrot soup, and despite it not being the thing you are craving the most in 30 degrees heat, it was actually very good. I then started working. We left at 12 and about five hours later we had arrived at St Martin. The passage went very smoothly.
We were all excited to arrive and get the air conditioner fixed. When we saw the service-guy leave the boat we all rushed below deck to feel the coolness, but we were disappointed to find it as hot as we left it. So, we settled for another night in the sauna. Yay!
