Today has been an adventure from start to finish. Waking up bright and early at 08:00 o clock and short after, setting out with our tender to explore the town, to get a feel for the streets, buildings, and shops of Guadeloupe.
As it was our first day here, everything felt fresh and exciting. We wandered through the streets, passing colorful houses and interesting shops. As true tourists we couldn’t resist peeking into souvenir shops and clothing boutiques. All while soaking in the lively Caribbean atmosphere. Of course we didn’t forget our sunscreen!
As we continued our exploration, we found ourselves on an unexpected detour—a topless beach. A brief but a well-memorable stop. Later, we made our way to Grand Anse, their biggest beach which was stunning, but unfortunately, strong winds made it hard to sunbathe or swim. Instead, we took a long walk along the shore, making our way towards the nearby airport, where we watched the small landing plateau.
Not ready to give up on our beach day, we hiked further and stumbled upon a secluded cove with crystal-clear blue water, perfectly sheltered from the wind. It was the ideal spot for some beautiful pictures such as the one above. We snorkeled for about one hour, enjoying the underwater life beneath us.
In the afternoon, we set off once again, this time heading towards the Napoleon Museum. The climb up was worth every step, rewarding us with a breathtaking panoramic view of the island. Standing there, gazing out over the green hills and blue sea, it was impossible not to be blown away by Guadeloupe’s natural beauty.
