This day contained everything from snorkelling, sun and bathing, bunkering to our last phone call before we cross the Atlantic. The day started with breakfast like usual, then we had our normal morning gathering.
When we were allowed to go off the boat we walked to the beach for snorkelling. When it got late, we found a lunch place which also had wifi so we ate. Then we were ready to go bunkering and have our last dinner in Cabo Verde.
The day began with Portside´s first roasterbreakfast we got bacon, eggs and porridge. This breakfast made the day start on its peak. We continued with morning gathering and today it was an unusual gathering because we had to say goodbye and welcome some new on board. Because today we got two new crew members, first one second mate and one second chef/ medical. When the captain told us we were free we walked to the beach since today we would be snorkelling by the coral reef. First of all we got some information about the project then we were ready to start snorkelling. We started to see some fish and different coral reefs, the most interesting thing I saw was a coral reef with a lot of different exotic fish.
After fifty minutes of being in the water my body started to freeze so when we were done, we all got up fast and waiting for the sun to burn us warm again. We didn’t notice we got sunburned before it was too late because after the swimming everyone was so tired so we fell asleep when it was the hottest time of the day. So, when we woke up we got dressed and quickly walked to a lunch place, I ordered one focaccia and some water. Since it started to be late we ran to a super market to bunker up for the Atlantic it felt like we bought up their entire stock.
We noticed it was to many bags to handle so we walked to the boat and on our way home we saw three girls who looked familiar. We didn’t think of it at first but then we saw, it was the girls from the high school who had visited us yesterday. We started some conversation and said goodbye because this was our last day in the city. I got on board and we decided to go out and eat tonight so we all fixed us a little bit more than usual and walked to the restaurant some local person had recommended to us. When we arrived to the restaurant, we all ordered some food soonest as possible so we could call our parents and say one last goodbye before we are going to leaving the port. So now the only thought everyone has in their mind is that in two days we are crossing the Atlantic, hope you want to follow our trip.
