After four days at sea, we finally arrived to Barcelona. Originally, according to the schedule we thought we would arrive tomorrow. But because the winds where so good throughout the trip, we got an extra day in Barcelona today.
Even though I love sailing and being on the ocean it feels good to have gotten to Barcelona and everyone was very excited to be here. There was also a lot of seasickness going on during the trip so I can assume it’s a relief to have steady ground under our feet. I’m looking forward to resting and sightseeing but also staying over at a Spanish family.

The best feeling though is when you step off the boat and on to ground that isn’t constantly moving under your feet. Walking around Barcelona today was a bit wobbly and we would all suddenly feel dizzy and feel like we were back on Gunilla in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea.
After lunch we were allowed to walk freely the city. We set off aimlessly and ended up on a narrow street parallell to La Rambla, the main street of the city. Smaller boutiques, restaurants and people strolling around filled the street with life and color. Moving in a zigzag motion from one side of the street to the other side, peeking into what felt like all the shops on the street. One of the stores was a second hand store, which at first glance looked like a halloween shop because of spiderweb decorating the entrance. The music was pounding inside and the walls were covered from the floor to the ceiling with colourful clothing and fun accessories. We soon realised that their clothes were sold by weight so a kilo of jeans cost only €24. I couldn’t resist and bought myself a pair.
Even though we only had a couple hours to explore I would say I got a good first impression of the city. After today my feet hurt so bad from all of the walking today and I know I will sleep well tonight.
