Today I woke up when someone knocked on the door. I thought: “Can I just sleep a little bit longer” but I barely have time to close my eyes before the lamp turns on. A few seconds of frustration but then I was awake and alert. I had the shift from twelve to four so to get my sleep I had to sleep until lunch and we didn't get any breakfast.
Today Indian food was on the menu. The ones who work in the kitchen are called backisar and they serve us the food. I think it´s hard to eat warm food in the morning because I would like to have breakfast but the food tastes good.
I had to hurry up so I wouldn't get late to my post. I was going out and the sun stung my eyes. My task today was a lookout, patrolman and lifebuoy guard. You are not allowed to talk with anybody when you work because you have to be focused. Then it´was my turn to steer the ship. It was hard at the beginning because it was my first time as a patrolman, I accidentally steered 40 degrees wrong. After a few minutes I got in a flow state and everything just got along. Some of us on the mast saw some turtles. Our work was done at four o'clock and then we had lessons.
For dinner we had hamburgers with fries and it was delicious. In the evening the sky was full of stars. We saw a lot of shooting stars, it was so cool. At twelve o'clock it was time for work again. I struggled to keep myself awake but it was not easy because I stood alone and looked out at the dark sea. After a while I began to see things that did not exist so it was a little scary. The peak of the day was as always “nattfikat”, a little break where we got to eat some snacks. Today they served scones with jam. Finally when I went to bed I fell asleep immediately because I was completely exhausted after a long day.
