The calm before the storm

The day did not start normally at all, because we happened to have a birthday girl on the boat, and we therefore began the morning with singing for her. After that, I had the honor of baking her fika of choice - Silviakaka.

I have never made one before but on a golden opportunity like this I simply couldn’t pass, I also love to bake so I was more than happy to do it. When we ate it in the evening no one seemed to get too disgusted by it either so it must have turned out okay. Other than that I spent most of the day thinking about what I am going to do for the rest of the week - of course while working because we can’t just sit around and do nothing, how could the boat possibly function then? We all know it wouldn’t. We have some exciting school-related things coming up but I also thought about what I want to do in the city before we leave. I had watch today and therefore wasn’t allowed to leave the boat but we have a few days left that we can spend however we want.

So far we have mostly been walking around in the medina which has been nice, it feels like walking around in the Aladdin movie. It is really beautiful and interesting to walk around there, there are of course a lot of souvenir shops and people that want to sell you stuff but you don’t feel as forced into buying things as I feel like you do in many other places. Everyone is very nice, it is easy to talk to people. I would though like to see other parts of the city to, which I will hopefully get the opportunity to do tomorrow. I did actually also take a moment to clean out the drawer under my bed because it pretty much looks like I have turned my bag upside-down in there, and it is honestly really hard to keep it organized. Like how am I supposed to maintain any kind of order in there when I have to stack things that I need on top of each other and when everything moves around when I open it? You can probably relate to the difficulty, after all, drawers aren’t a very rare phenomenon. Anyways, the fact that new things are continuing to find their way into it all the time doesn’t make it easier either. My newest finds are to big ceramic plates that aren’t the smoothest things to make room for but I somehow managed *pat on the shoulder*. Somehow even this beautiful day came to an end, I might not have contributed so much to world peace but at least I made it out alive and without harming anyone else. Let’s keep it that way, shall we all?
