The small things in life

Imagine waking up at 03:30 every day, and everything is the same, work, sleep and eat. It may sound kind of hard and some people are maybe wondering why anyone would do that voluntary, but believe me when I say that it’s worth it.

After about one and a half hour, the sun begin to rise, and you get to experience one the most beautiful sunset you will ever see. One of my favorite views is when the sun meet the sails and get that beautiful light, and that is when I start to think ”wow, I love this”. As soon as the sun is up, you can feel that it’s getting warmer and warmer outside and everyone is getting less tired and gets in a really good mood.

One of my favorite things about the 4-8 watch is the breakfast you have after. It’s hard to explain the feeling when you end the watch and get to go inside and have a bowl of porridge with cinnamon and milk. Gunilla make you appreciate the small things in life and this is one of them. After the breakfast you have a lot of free time, some are going to bed to sleep an hour or two, and some are up studying or watching movies. However, the time after breakfast you get to have some alone-time, and for me, it’s really appreciated. I love my friends, but after hanging out with them every hour every day, its kind of nice to have some distance.

We have started to get really close to the next port, Progresso. These days at sea has been wonderful with a really good sailing. Everyone have been feeling kind of well. The only problem we have now on board is that we have maybe 25 bird above us, and they are not leaving. We have tried to scare them away, but no, the want to stay and I understand them, everyone loves Gunilla!
