Today we left Mindelo

Today we left Mindelo and started our journey over the Atlantic. We woke up and had breakfast and gathering as usual. After that midships started their shift.

At 9 am the alarm rang thorough the boat. Everyone got up on aft deck and gathered at their life raft stations. We all put on our lifejackets and the crew members checked that everyone was there. When everyone had put on their life jackets, we all gathered around the rudder. Pontus, our chief officer talked about what to do if we would need to abandon the ship. He talked about the safety on board and different things that we were supposed to bring to the life rafts. When he was done, we all put our lifejackets back. Then the crew were going to search trough our cabins. So, everyone except one person per cabin had to stay on deck for the next 40 minutes. The crew searched our cabins, and they found nothing. When they were done, we could go back to doing what we were doing before the alarm. Midships continued their shift and my almost everyone in my watch went back to bed. At 11 am we left Mindelo port. We went by motor for a while before we started putting up the sails. When we came out between the different islands the boat rocked a little bit. For lunch we ate pulled pork with rice. At 12 o clock starboard started their shift. They put up a lot of sails and made a turn through wind. Some people in my watch tanned on front deck. At 4 pm port, my watch, started our shift. We scrubbed main deck and cleaned the entire boat. For dinner we got chicken steak and oven baked potatoes. They watched Moana in Stora mässen. And then midships started their night watch. They baked very good banana scones.
