Tons of ceramics!

The morning started great with a visit on the boat from de Swedish embassy in Marocko. We showed them around our ship and I hope that they got a felling of how it works on here Gunilla out at sea.

After that I had free watch and we got time to explore the interesting culture of Marocko. And that we did. We ended up in a tunnel like alley which was a food market with a lot of locals. It was an outstanding experience with a lot of different senes. It was crazy, meat types I have never seen before. They had fridges whit brains from animals.

We stopped when we saw a lot of olives and bought super duper manny for just 28 dirhams which directly converts to 28 kr, incredibly cheap in my opinion. I kept on walking and was amazed by the cheer amount of products. Just out of the blue a rooster came out and started to SING. I have never in my whole life seen a rooster walking free out in the alley. In the end of the corridor we got hit by a intense smell of fish and seafood because there was a big room full of tables crammed with fish. At one table they sold shrimps and the man behind the counter peeled shrimps in a way so fast, it completely blew my mind. At first it looked like a normal fish market but the further we came, the more special it got. We saw two sharks as big as me laying on the floor and in front of them there was a Hamer shark.

Marocko is famous for all of their ceramics. They come in a lot of different shapes colours and motives. All of the ceramics are handmade in Safi, a city further into the country. First we stopped in a store with a lot of ceramics but the prices were kind of expensive and the seller wasn’t so keen to our bargaining. I think thats an opinion thats not just mine but shared with the majority of my classmates. So we moved on and went to the store next door and that I am truly grateful for since I found nice ceramic for a much lower cost with a much more nice and kind seller.

We got in a little bit of a hurry because our watch was due and we needed to get back to the boat to eat lunch. But I didn’t have lot of time to spill since I was a backis, a helper in the kitchen, and needed to get to work and clean up after the lunch. It was hard work and we were done just in time to have half an hour to get ready for the spooky Halloween party. I dressed up as a witch and it was really fun to see everyones Halloween costumes. The music started and the party began. We had a lot of snacks, candy and chips. It was really fun, everyone danced and had a good time.

This was for sure one of the best parts of our trip!
