Today is the day I talked with two murderers, first and foremost though we took the bus to Belfast. It was a peaceful journey and almost everyone had closed eyes and earphones in their ears.
Then we got some time to walk around in Belfast and look at the city, it was beautiful and had some really cool old buildings. For lunch we all had some Irish stew which maybe didn’t look very appetizing but tasted really good. Then we got a guide onboard our bus who was ex-IRA and who had been imprisoned for some bombing and for killing two police officers. He had some really interesting stories to tell and how he spent 10 years in jail of which the first 5 were solitary confinement where he got beaten a lot. Then we switched guide to one who was on the other side of the conflict. He instead had joined a gang when he was young and killed his first when he was 16 and had killed a total of over 10 people. He as well was extremely interesting to listen to and I think we all learned a lot. I liked having these crazy guides and afterwards we went back to Dublin for a late dinner. Today was my dear friends birthday so after dinner we went to celebrate him with an alcohol-free Guinness on an Irish Pub in Irish fashion.
