Tragedy in the 1800s

The plantation was very interesting; the only bad thing was that there was a lot of insects around so I was more focused on keeping myself away from them.

We woke up around 7am for breakfast at Gunilla. Today it was scheduled to go visit the Old Slave Mart Museum and also a cotton plantation. We were divided in two groups and my group got to sleep a little bit more than the other group after the morning meeting in the main deck. The museum was very interesting, our guide was very smart and he explained to us how life for a black man was in the 1800s. I think it is very important to learn about black history so that we don’t make the same mistakes again. The plantation was very interesting too; the only bad thing was that there was a lot of insects around so I was more focused on keeping myself away from them. When we came home we decided to go out to the city of Charleston to eat some good ice cream, the only thing I have to say about that is that it was delicious.

P.S. There has been three thunderstorms this trip; one is going on as I am writing it is crazy.

Greetings,

Hannah SB
