We started the day with breakfast at seven, and then we all gathered on deck. Everyone was hopeful that we would be able to leave later that day, but our hopes disappeared pretty quickly when our captain told us that we had some delays.
Those of us in starboard had watch today, so we immediately started fixing the sails. The weather was awful, and the work was really tough, to be honest. It was the coldest day so far, with strong winds and pouring rain. Although it was hard work, especially in that weather, we felt like it was a good warm-up since we will be visiting even colder harbors later on in the trip.
But lunch today was amazing despite the weather. We were served warm tacopai, which was exactly what we needed!
After lunch, we went back to working in the rigging for another four hours. Afterwards, we changed out of our wet clothes and cleaned the interior of the boat before finally finishing our shift.
We were all tired after such a long day, so the evening was peaceful.
Goodnight!
/ Ella Brun, starboard
