Rain, watch and cinnamonbuns

Today it was my watch, Babord/Port side, turn on watch duty, and I took my 08–12 ship watch. It rained nonstop and the cold was honestly brutal. The kind that makes your fingers feel like they don’t belong to you. In the middle of all that, Sonja smuggled a candy to me and Ylva. It was such a small thing, but it made the whole miserable morning feel a bit easier to get through.

After the watch I finally got my break, and I went straight to take a nap. I fell asleep instantly and woke up completely on my own, right in time for three‑fikat. And today was cinnamon‑bun day, which was luxury.

Then I had my 16–20:30 watch, and of course it was still super cold. I wore five layers and still felt the chill. The laundry room chaos didn’t help either, everything was a mess. When I finally got off duty, I took a hot shower that felt like amazing after a whole day in the cold, and then I went straight to bed. A long and cold day, but the small things made it greater than ever.
